Never installed a Minecraft mod before? Follow these five steps and you'll be throwing Poké Balls in under ten minutes.

  1. Step01

Install Modrinth App or Prism Launcher

Both are free, cross-platform launchers that handle Minecraft mods automatically. Modrinth is friendlier for beginners; Prism gives more control. Either works.

  2. Step02

Sign in with your Microsoft / Mojang account

MineBuddy is a premium server — you'll need a paid Java Edition account. We do not allow cracked clients (sorry).

  3. Step03

    Search for the MineBuddy modpack

Inside Modrinth (or CurseForge), search 'MineBuddy' or 'Cobblemon'. Pick our pinned modpack and click Install. The launcher pulls Cobblemon plus every QoL mod we recommend.

  4. Step04

Launch the modpack and add the server

Hit Play, wait for Minecraft to open, then go to Multiplayer → Add server. Set the address to play.minebuddy.net and save. Click Join.

  5. Step05

    Pick your starter and explore

You'll spawn at the hub. Talk to Professor Birch to claim a starter Pokémon, then step through the warp to the open world.

FAQ

Common questions — answered.

What version do I need?

Fabric 1.21.1. The modpack handles the install — don't try to launch vanilla.

Is it free?

Yes. You need a Minecraft Java Edition account. Everything else is free. Ranks are optional cosmetic-only upgrades.

Cracked / non-premium?

No. We run online-mode for safety. Please support Mojang.

Can I play on Bedrock?

Not yet. Cobblemon is Java-only today. A GeyserMC bridge is on the roadmap.

How much RAM?

Allocate 4–6 GB to the launcher for a smooth experience.
